Al Mawla - The Protecting Guardian
Al Mawla is our Helper, Guardian, Ally, and Protector, and He is the one in charge. What unites all these terms is the idea of closeness. Al Mawla is our nearest and most constant support, regardless of time or situation. He stands as a supporter of believers in both this life and the hereafter.
He is your protector and supporter against all our opposing forces, including the evil, enemies and shaitan. He is the One who takes care of our affairs, both small and great. He, glory be to Him, has no equal in taking care of all our matters and our benefits.
This beautiful name has a clear meaning of love, support, protection, success and guidance, and this guardianship is specific to his believing and righteous servants.
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, ordered the Companions on the day of Uhud when Abu Sufyan said to them: “We have Al-Uzza العُزّى, and you have no Uzza.”
The Messenger of ALLAH, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Answer him.”
They said: “What should we say?”
He said: “Say: ALLAH is our Master, and you have no Master.” رواه البخاري في صحيحه
A believer feels a special commitment from God Almighty as a reward for their faith and obedience.
This commitment also entails loyalty to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), which includes love for Him, pride in His teachings, and support for His regulations. Additionally, it involves loyalty to His righteous followers and a lack of sympathy for unbelievers and enemies of Islam.
The name Al Mawla refers to the Master who controls the affairs of all beings and decides all their matters. He is the King, possessing complete authority over all of creation. There is no power except through Him; glory be to Him.
May He forgive us, have mercy on us, and protect us from all evils. May He guide us towards the best in this world and the Hereafter. Aameen.
